Chapter 1: Bound to Happen

The ceiling of Eggman’s main control room suddenly burst open from the outside as the Tornado came through for a crash landing inside the base. From the mangled wreckage, Sonic and Tails quickly emerged from the plane and ran to face the evil doctor that awaited them.
The plane had been shot down while flying into Eggman’s territory and Tails had been forced the make a crash landing directly in the center of the base. If not much were at stake here, he’d take the time to brood over his damaged Tornado. Amy and Knuckles had been distracting the doctor’s robots as much as they could so that the other pair could make through his forces unscathed. Cream and Cheese had been standing outside the base at a safe distance and in the control room. Rouge was hidden in the vents near the ceiling waiting for the perfect opportunity to snatch their emeralds. Hiding within the shade of the battle, Shadow merely watched. He had no business in the situation taking place, but he wanted to keep and eye on Eggman incase he got too much power and planned to do something stupid.
Standing across the large room Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik grinned deviously at the pair of animals. “Sonic. Long time, no see. You may have come this far, but I’ll be sure that you won’t make it out of here alive…”
“Fat chance, Eggman! We’ve beaten you plenty before and we can do it again! Why don’t you just give up now and save yourself the embarrassment for later!” Sonic exclaimed.
“Hah! You foolish rat! Do you think I’ll ever give up that easily? I may not have all the chaos emeralds at my disposal, but I have been able to empower one of my greatest robots using the ones I already have.” He took a remote control and pressed a button on it. A circular door way warped open in the floor between the doctor and the two animals. Sonic’s old mechanical counterpart, Metal Sonic, rose from the opening facing the two with glowing red eyes.
Immense power had surged through his robotic limbs and an overwhelming dark blue glow surrounded his exterior. Tails seemed surprised, but Sonic still had that mischievous smirk on his face.
In their previous adventures, it was usually either Sonic or Robotnik who ended up in possession of all the chaos emeralds in the end. However, this time it was different. This time each side now had a nearly equal amount of the seven emeralds. Sonic had three and Eggman had four. This single change would drastically change the out come of this incident.
It was obvious the doctor had stored his four emeralds within Metal Sonic, and although Sonic could not completely change into Super Sonic, he had more than enough power to face his nemesis head on. And thus when they’ll fight it will weave together something that was bound to happen…

Although his adversary had more power than he did, Sonic didn’t let that discourage him. He always enjoyed a challenge and he was not going to let Eggman have the emeralds.
He allowed the power of the gems to flow through his body and empower his present state. A glowing, blue aura surrounded the hedgehog with his eyes filled with anticipation. In a faint blur, the hedgehog moved first. Metal responded with the same action. Both fighters clashed together causing a quick flash of light between them, causing them both to bounce the other way. Then again they managed to strike each other.
Like curving bolts of lightning the opponents scraped against one another like flint and tinder creating constant white flashes to flicker in the battlefield. As they fought, tried to kick off the robot’s limbs or dent the steel, but it failed to faze him as much as he expected. Metal shot missiles at the other speed demon to try to cause damage. But Sonic was way too fast to take precise aim at and could destroy them all by shifting himself through them like a bullet. Sonic came from behind Metal and swung his heel at his target. The robot blocked the hit with his arms, however the attack Sonic made a brighter and more powerful flash than before. In fact each hit they delivered in the melee created a flash of light stronger than the next.
Tails had been watching the fight from the sidelines as the brawl continued. At first it made him wonder, but then he finally he figured it out.
“Oh crap! How could I’ve overlooked this?! I have to stop the fight right now!” The fox ran toward the two rivals and waved his arms in the air. “SONIC WAIT!! STOP FIGHTING!! YOU HAVE TO STOP FIGHTING RIGHT NOW!!!” Tails’s sudden act of panic made Sonic glance at him confused in the fray. While he was distracted, Metal took the opportunity to summon as much power as the four emeralds would allow him to prepared for an overwhelming blow. He jolted towards him with blinding speed and allowed his mechanical body to collide into the hedgehog. When Sonic looked back he only had enough time to block the hit by crossing his arms.
Then suddenly, an eruption of white light erupted between the two fighters and had immediately expanded itself over the entire base. Those who had even been near the doctor’s base were immediately over taken by its force and could only see the light itself before disappearing off the face of the planet.
The reaction the emeralds’ collision had been so great that it had pierced a hole through the fabric of space itself; sucking in any living being that had been within the area into the next dimension. It was Chaos Control. Although useful in the hands of those who knew how to use it, the emeralds were still very unstable especially when they were together all in one place. After a few minutes the light had dimmed and the hole had eventually sealed itself leaving everything leaving behind an eerie silence.

It was yet another typical day in the Mushroom Kingdom. The sun was shining, the clouds were blinking their beady little eyes (as well as everything else), and toad children were playing happily in the streets.
Mario, the Kingdom’s famous hero, sat at the table inside his house staring at the note he had received in the mail less than a week ago in his hands.
It read:

Dear Mario,

I am having a party at my castle this weekend and I’d think it would be sweet if you and Luigi would come. There will be lots of cake and everyone is invited (except Wario and Waluigi because they’re gross…. Be sure to arrive at my castle 1:00 PM on Friday. I’ll see you then.

Love, Peach

He had a bad feeling about this. Whenever Peach threw a party or a get-together at her castle, things usually went horribly wrong. Most of the time it included Bowser intruding and taking the Princess away. Even though he knew this, he was still coming to they party. If Bowser was going to attack the castle, then Mario wasn’t going to let him kidnap Peach again. Coming for that reason and because his brother really wanted to go.
“Hurry up Luigi! We’re going to be late!”
“Hang on a minute! I’m almost done!”
Mario was growing impatient. However he was thankful that this time Luigi was going to the bathroom before they left for Peach’s castle. It was a lot better than running frantically through the streets and then using the bathroom when the got there.
When he was finished the two Mario Bros. left the house and headed towards the castle.
“I’m a bit nervous, Mario. Do you think Daisy will be there?”
“Well, Peach did say that everyone was invited in the letter. I don’t see why she wouldn’t come.”
“Everyone? Ooh, Then that means-“
“Everyone except Wario and Waluigi. She said that in the letter too. I don’t blame her either.” Mario patted his brother’s shoulder.
“Relax Luigi, everything’s going to be just fine.” He lied. He knew that something was bound to happen at the castle today. In fact he secretly had his hammer secured to his overalls for this situation.
He lied to him because he didn’t want Luigi to freak out and hide somewhere else. Perhaps if a certain someone appeared at the castle uninvited he would even grow some backbone and help his brother. That and because he didn’t want him to worry.
A few minutes passed and the duo had arrived at the entrance of Peach’s Castle. The hall was filled with the drone of conversion when they had entered the building. Most of the people were toads, but there were others; Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, Toadsworth, Daisy, and of course, Princess Peach.
The princess approached them.
“Mario, Luigi, thank both of you for coming.” She said with a polite smile. “Hey Peach. It’s great to see you again.” Luigi said.
“Sorry if we’re a little late. Luigi had to go to the bathroom before we could leave.” Stated Mario rolling his eyes.
Luigi’s face turned red. “Hey!” Peach couldn’t help but giggle. “I’m glad to see you here. Some people couldn’t make it to the party. Why don’t you make yourselves at home.”
“Okay.” They began to wonder off, but Peach called out.
“Mario wait… I need to tell you something.”
“What is it Peach?”
A sad expression grew on her face. “I’ve been a little unsure about this whole party thing... Whenever we just try to have a nice time together Bowser always likes to ruin everything. And I know that you’ve been thinking the same thing the past few days… I just wish I could have a party for once without everything going wrong. After all that’s happened in the past, I’m glad you still came.”
“Thanks Peach. And don’t worry, if Bowser does show up then I’m not letting him kidnap you this time.” He grinned with a confident look on his face and tipped his hat.
She smiled and stepped toward him. “Thank you Mario.” She kissed him on the head. He blushed but then shook it off after a while.
Five minutes had passed and the party was still going as uneventful as it was before. This was because no one could hear nor see the gigantic flying battle ship looming its way towards the castle from the inside.
A Toad stopped by one of the glass stained windows of Peach and smell the drink in his hand to be sure no one spiked the punch this time. That’s when the big freaking ship had caught his eye and he immediately began to panic. “AAAAAAHH!!! OH MY GOD!! EVERYONE RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!” He ran away from the widow throwing his drink in the air.
Of course, no one knew what he was talking about until the bow of the ship a forced its way through the entire wall of the building. All the guests ran around screaming in confusion and pandemonium. Luigi hid underneath a table shaking with arms around his knees. “Oooh…not again…”
A large shady figure had leaped from the boats deck and landed on the castle floor, causing it to shake. He raised his chest and sounded his sonorous laugh to sound through the hall.
It was Bowser. He shifted his crimson eyes to Peach. “rincess, it’s been a while now hasn’t it?”
“I knew it! I knew you would ruin everything, Bowser! Why can’t you just leave all us alone!” She yelled angrily at him.
“Now is that anyway to talk to your husband?” He stepped forward, but Mario ran in front of him blocked his way. “Back off Bowser! I’m not letting you take her this time!”
“Oh I see. Protecting the princess as usual. This shouldn’t take long. I’ll wipe the whole castle floor- Bowser halted his words when a slit of white light flickered in mid air beside them. It was slowly getting bigger and was flashing brighter. I had caught both of the foes’ attention.
“What the Heck?...” Grumbled Bowser. There was a short pause before he stomped over to the light and observed it closely squinting his blood-red eyes. Then suddenly, within a split second, it erupted with an unfathomable force that pushed away everything within its reach in every direction in a vast combustion of pale light. The entire castle had exploded from the sudden outburst of energy as the light branched throughout the area. Toads, Koopas, Goombas, Bomb-ombs, friends, and debris were flying miles away in every possible direction from the explosion.
Mario, both confused and startled by the sudden eruption, yelled as he shot helplessly in to the sky becoming a star in the bright afternoon.

An hour had passed since the incident and from inside the Shy Guy Toy box, General Guy had been getting constant reports that the Mushroom Castle had exploded shortly after it. It sounded normal for something like that to happen when Bowser showed up, but blowing up the castle as soon as soon as he came was probably a little too extreme. Even for Bowser. Especially if he himself, and the princess were still in the castle in the first place. Another Shy Guy ran up to him. “General! General!”
“I already heard what happened to Peach’s Castle, Private.”
The Shy Guy shook his head. “No, it’s not that! We found Mario unconscious outside the perimeter!”
The General seemed a bit surprised even behind his white mask.
“Really? Is this true, private?”
“I’m positive General! I’ve seen him with my own eyes!”
“Very well then. Be sure that he is…” Another Shy Guy ran up to Guy panting. “General…” He said catching his breath. “A strange blue, spiky animal has crashed in to the eastern part of the Toy box… We think it might be a some sort of hedgehog.”
“What? A hedgehog? A blue hedgehog?? Are you playing tricks with me, private?”
“No! I’m serious! He crashed into the Toy box just five minutes ago! I swear!”
“That’s strange.” Said the other Shy Guy. “Mario had just recently landed outside the Toy box a few minutes ago. Do you think it has something to do with the explosion?”
“This is all of matter of fate, young ones…” A voice said from behind them. The three turned around and saw a taller Shy Guy wearing a dark blue robe. He wore a large scarf draped over his shoulders with pointed ends, was holding a book under his right arm, and had a pendent that looked like a clock around his neck.
“Hey look! It’s the Wise Guy!” said one of the Shy Guys.
The Wise Guy went on. “According the books of ancient legends in my library, it’s been said that one day the Red Plumber of Fire from Mushroom Kingdom shall one day join forces with the Blue Hedgehog of Quickness from the other world and face off both of their most hated foes. Many different versions of this prophecy have been told, but it now looks as if it is about to happen. …”
“What? A hedgehog from another world? Is that even possible?” Asked one of the Shy Guys.
“It has to be! If the Wise Guys so it is then it must!”
“Good Lord… Do you know what this means?”
“No, what?”
“It means we that we get to complete the prophecy…”

INCOMING RANDOM FAN FICTION!!!
Yeah, I decided to make up a story about Sonic and Mario meeting for the first time. Ever. I always wanted to do this considering Nintendo and SEGA won't get off their lazy asses and start making an actual crossover game that has-oh I don't know-A PLOT!?? I'd like to see an RPG of Sonic and Mario like a partner in time thing. That would be awesome. Anyways, I'll update this and Ninsense more in the future. For the past few days the internet has been an ass to me and I couldn't really do much until I forced my dad to fixing everything. Ninsense is most likely the next one up so yeah... Lol Peach's Castle asplodes in the first chapter. I love asplosions...
